After a yearlong run at The View, comedienne Michelle Collins says that she will be saying taking her leave.
Collins became a regular on the show soon after Rosie O’Donnell relinquished her seat in 2015. Executive producer Candi Carter sent an email to Entertainment Weekly confirming the “bittersweet” news that Collins would soon be giving up her spot in turn.
“We wish her great success with some exciting new projects ahead,” Carter said. “Please join me in thanking Michelle for her hard work, great humor and many contributions this season to The View. She’ll be in the office next week to say good-bye to you personally.”
Collins’ departure is an interesting development in light of recent reports that ABC was in the process of firing her. Page Six reported that a show insider said “the parting was amiable,” though they also reported that there’s been friction between the show, Collins, and her potential replacements.
