Arizona Congressional Candidate Pamela Gorman Shoots Down Taxes – Literally

Not to pick on the GOP, but they seem to be the only ones coming out with interesting campaign commercials. This time from Arizona Congressional candidate Pamela Gorman, and her guns.

Chock full of ballistics puns, Gorman tells us very little, aside from her being a “conservative Christian and a pretty fair shot.” Cue video of her firing a gun. She also does not like taxes–evident from her shooting at the word “TAXES.” Gorman is rated 100 percent by the NRA, the ad says. She’s “always right on target.”

Obviously every candidate is entitled to an opinion about gun laws and taxes. But when majority of the 43-second ad is devoted to footage of Gorman firing a gun, voters do not get an idea of who Gorman is or where she stands on relevant, pressing issues. Call it an archaic idea, but that’s what campaign ads, at least to some extent, are supposed to do.
