Attorneys for Charged Baltimore Cops Call for Trial to Be Held Outside City
Attorneys representing the six Baltimore cops charged in the death of Freddie Gray have officially filed a motion requesting that their trial be held outside the city.
According to The Baltimore Sun, they believe there is a “presumption of prejudice” in Baltimore that ensures the officers “cannot receive a fair and impartial trial.”
Every citizen of Baltimore has been impacted by what happened, given the violent rioting that broke out after Gray’s death, and that’s why they want a change of venue.
All six officers were recently indicted by a grand jury, days after the officers’ attorneys filed a motion saying that State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby should recuse herself.
