Before Trump Audio Went Public, Billy Bush Reportedly Bragged About It
Billy Bush, the former TODAY host who can be heard yukking it up with Donald Trump about grabbing women by their genitals, bragged about the conversation to NBC staffers months before it went public, according to Page Six.
Bush reportedly boasted to his colleagues that there existed “tape of Trump being a real dog,” while at a party during the Rio Olympics this August. It was Bush’s comments that inspired NBC staffers to track down the 2005 audio from Access Hollywood that went public Friday afternoon.
Bush was suspended from NBC on Sunday “pending further review,” according to a statement.
A potential headache for Bush is that he told colleagues about the tape, but kept it from higher-ups, an act which could violate a morality clause in his contract. An insider tells Page Six:
“Billy was bragging about the tape to other NBC staff while in Rio. If he knew about the tape, and remembered the full extent of such an explosive conversation with a presidential candidate and didn’t disclose that to NBC News, that is a very, very serious problem.”
