Bill O’Reilly’s Former Station Airs Retrospective Because…He’s ‘Making Headlines This Week’
Bill O’Reilly‘s old television station, Connecticut CBS affiliate WFSB, ran a nice retrospective on him yesterday during Face the State.
Why? Oh, because he’s “making headlines this week.” The clip lauds O’Reilly for landing “plum” assignments and asserts he “never phoned it in,” even when covering the fluffy stuff.
You know the saying, “all publicity is good publicity”? Maybe WFSB just wants to pop to the top of Google results as people are looking for the latest information on all of the accusations of sexual harassment and racism against O’Reilly, or trying to figure out how many advertising partners have abandoned his show in the last few days.
This move shouldn’t surprise you, anyway. WFSB is a CBS affiliate and CBS is helmed by none other than Les Moonves, the guy who famously said that Donald Trump is bad for America, but great for ratings.
If the content draws eyes — to paraphrase O’Reilly himself — [redacted], they’ll do it live.
Watch their trip down Memory Lane above.
