Bonnier Names Eric Zinczenko as New CEO

EZ-new-exvpMajor magazine publishing company Bonnier Corporation announced on Monday that Eric Zinczenko will serve as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Bonnier is one of the largest American publishing companies, currently owning widely-read enthusiast magazines like Popular Science, Field & Stream, and Parenting.

Zinczenko was previously the executive vice president at Bonnier before this major promotion. He joined the company in 2007 after Swedish-owned Bonnier Group purchased several magazine titles from Time Inc., his former place of employment.

Outgoing CEO Dave Freygang will stay with Bonnier as a consultant through the end of this year.

Below is the internal memo sent from Bonnier Group’s CEO Tomas Franzén:

Dear Bonnier colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we announce today that Eric Zinczenko has been named CEO of Bonnier Corporation. Eric is a smart and talented executive who has been instrumental in growing and expanding Bonnier Corporation’s brands across multiple platforms, and a natural choice to take over as leader.

Dave Freygang is retiring as CEO but will continue to be available to Eric and the company as a consultant through the end of the year. I commend Dave Freygang for his 26 years at Bonnier and World Publications and wish him the very best.

I look forward to working with Eric in his new position. I am confident that he will be a strong CEO and the right person to lead Bonnier Corporation into the future.

Best regards,

Tomas Franzén
CEO, Bonnier AB
Chairman, Bonnier Corporation
