Boston Bombing Suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev Reportedly Buried In Virginia
According to WCBV Boston, the body of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev has been buried in a Muslim cemetery in central Virginia.
The Boston-based news outlet reports that, according to their sources, Tsarnaev’s body was interred at Al-Barzakh Cemetery, a Muslim cemetery located in Doswell, Va., about 15 miles north of the state capital of Richmond.
Before being moved out of Massachusetts, Tsarnaev’s body was being held at a Worcester funeral home for a week after its release from the state medical examiner. The deceased bombing suspect’s widow requested the body be turned over to his side of the family, which ultimately did claim the remains.
WCBV reports that the body was moved from the Massachusetts funeral home on Wednesday evening and made its way to Virginia for burial. Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick expressed satisfaction that the Tsarnaev family had found a place to bury the body, putting an end to the “circus” that was his funeral limbo.
