Richard Simmons Has Been Hospitalized in California

According to a report from ABC, Richard Simmons has been hospitalized in California for “severe indigestion.”

“After a few days of battling severe indigestion and discomfort while eating, we agreed it was best for him to seek treatment,” Simmons’ manager, Michael Catalano told the outlet.

Simmons entered the hospital Monday. According to Catalano, the fitness celebrity is doing better and is “expected to make a full recovery.”

In 2014, Simmons largely vanished from public life. His disappearance from his workout class, Slimmons and the mystery surrounding it, sparked rumors, including one that he was being held hostage by his housekeeper, which he refuted on NBC’s Today. It also led to the now-famous podcast, Missing Richard Simmons. Recently, Simmons signed a licensing deal, which indicated that he may make a return.
