Earlier today, audio leaked of Donald Trump telling Billy Bush how badly he wanted to sleep with a married woman. He insulted her breasts after telling Bush that she had rejected him, then explained that famous men can do whatever they want to women, including “grab them by the p*ssy.”
Obviously, there was outrage. It came from cable news pundits across every channel. It came from members of the GOP. Paul Ryan made it known that Trump was no longer going to be appearing at an event in Wisconsin tomorrow. Trump even released an apology statement, although it somehow blamed Bill Clinton, which delegitimized it to many.
Now, Trump has released this video, starting out by saying, “I never said I was a perfect person nor pretended to be someone that I’m not.”
He said he’s regretted some of what he’s said in the past and insisted “these words don’t reflect” the kind of person he is.
“I said it,” Trump said, “I was wrong, and I apologize.”
Trump did go on to say “this is nothing more than a distraction from the important issues we’re facing today.” And he invoked the Clintons, saying they abused and bullied women.
