Brian Williams Has a Very Good Reason for Not Drinking

Brian Williams isn’t a very plugged-in anchor (his verified Twitter account has never been used), but he did a Facebook Q&A Wednesday where he shared a very good reason for why he never drinks.

Williams took questions ranging from his routine before going on-air to what his favorite holiday is. He also addresses a question about why he throws “lighter” news into a hard-hitting newscast, like interviewing Ben Affleck about Gone Girl.

But one question showed exactly how committed to his job he is. In response to a question about why he doesn’t drink, Williams explained:

Used to/never really loved it/some family members have had a rough time with it…so I figure since I never know when news is gonna break out…and I so often need to drive and/or think straight…its an easy thing to do without!

Yes, Brian Williams doesn’t drink in case he needs to be ready to report on breaking news. How’s that for dedication to a craft?
