Bridge Collapses Near Seattle, Cars With People Reportedly In Water
A bridge has collapsed near Seattle, Washington over the Skagit River. Washington State Patrol has confirmed, and a number of news organizations are reporting, that at least two cars with people trapped inside are in the water.
One state trooper said the collapse occurred around 7 P.M., and with both northbound and southbound lanes closed off, traffic is building up on the I-5.

UPDATE: Three people, two men and one woman, were rescued from the water and taken to hospitals. There were no fatalities, according to state authorities.
UPDATE II: Engineers are investigating whether an oversize load possibly struck the bridge.
