‘Brought to You by Baileys!’: Twitter Mocks Priebus for Assuring Trump Meeting Will Unify

As the 2016 Republican nomination grows more inflamed and splintered, it seems that Reince Priebus is trying once again to assure people that his party will unite around Donald Trump. Though he says that things went well regarding the highly-publicized meeting at the RNC this morning, it seems that many people are not buying what he’s selling them today.

The meeting was great. It was a very positive step toward party unity.

The RNC chairman joined Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan in Washington today, where they were set to discuss how to bring the party together and move past Ryan’s previous hesitation to support the mogul. Trump’s camp has been slamming Ryan and showing disinterest in repairing bridges with establishment figures, while the anti-Trump camp hoped that Ryan would hold out for traditional conservatism and grant them leeway for future discourse.

While Priebus’ tweet sounds encouraging, this is hardly the first time people have mocked him for claiming everything’s fine while the GOP cannibalizes itself with infighting. Sure enough, it’s happening again today:
