Buffalo Wild Wings Pulls Ads Featuring Comedian Who Made Up 9/11 Story

buffalo wild wingsComedian Steve Rannazzisi, best known for starring in FX’s The League, got in trouble this week after it was discovered he lied about being in the World Trade Center on 9/11. He said he worked for Merrill Lynch at the time and saw the plane hit the first tower.

That was untrue and Rannazzisi apologized, saying, “I was not at the Trade Center on that day. I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry.”

But now it’s having an effect on one of his business dealings. According to reports, Buffalo Wild Wings said in a statement they’re pulling all their ads featuring Rannazzisi.

A rep said, “Upon careful review, we have decided to discontinue airing our current television commercials featuring Steve Rannazzisi.”
