CBS Reportedly Thinking of Replacing Jeff Glor With Norah O’Donnell on Evening News

CBS’ Norah O’Donnell might be about to jump from the morning shift to the evening shift.

Variety reports that the network is thinking about moving O’Donnell off of CBS This Morning and having her take Jeff Glor‘s place on CBS Evening News. This is believed to be one of several changes being considered for CBS’ news division, another one being that the broadcast could be relocated from New York to Washington D.C.

These changes, reportedly under review by incoming president Susan Zirinsky, suggest the network might not be happy with how ratings have dipped since Glor became the show’s lead anchor in 2017. According to Page Six, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was offered Glor’s position as well, though he turned it down in favor of a renewed contract with his current station. (Page Six‘s report said a CBS rep responded with a brief statement: “Not true.”)

If O’Donnell makes the switch, its unclear what could happen with her presence on This Morning or with 60 Minutes. Reports suggest she’s been angling for the job for some time, and if the show is relocated to the capital, it would put O’Donnell closer to her family.
