Charlie Hebdo’s New Issue Will Include Cartoons of Muhammed

Before last week’s terrorist attack in Paris, Charlie Hebdo’s circulation hovered around 45,000. When the satirical magazine releases its new issue — on schedule — this Wednesday, they will be printing one million copies. And a lawyer for the publication has now stated that it will contain cartoons featuring the Muslim Propher Muhammed.
“We will not give in. The spirit of ‘I am Charlie’ means the right to blaspheme,” Charlie Hebdo’s lawyer, Richard Malka, said in a statement to France Info radio, indicating that Mohammed would make an appearance in the issue and that the front page would be released online Monday night.
Previously, the French television show Les Guignols posted the mock-up below for Charlie Hebdo’s new cover on Twitter, but it was later revealed to be itself a parody:

Meanwhile, France is deploying 10,000 additional soldiers and nearly 5,000 police officers to protect Jewish sites around the country following last week’s attacks.
