Chris Farley Voices Shrek In Leaked Test Footage

It’s no secret that the late comedian Chris Farley was almost finished recording dialogue for 2001’s Shrek before he died. Fellow Saturday Night Live alum Mike Myers stepped in after the film and the part were retooled, which delivered the series we all know and love today.

No one outside of the movie’s production has seen or heard what Farley did. Thanks to a Vimeo user named John Garbett, however, test footage of Farley acting opposite Eddie Murphy is now available online. It’s very much cut from the same cloth as the film Myers eventually helped finish after Farley’s death, but the late actor’s performance is a great deal more dramatic and sadder than his replacement’s work.
