Christine Ford’s Lawyers Clear Up Confusion: We Paid for the Polygraph

In a terse exchange early in the afternoon session of Christine Blasey Ford‘s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, attorneys for the Brett Kavanaugh sexual assault told Rachel Mitchell — conducting the questioning of Ford on behalf of Senate Republicans — that they paid for their client’s polygraph test in early August.

The subject was initially broached earlier in the day, with Dr. Ford testifying that she didn’t know who paid for the polygraph examination. When Mitchell revisited the topic with her first question following a recess in the proceedings, Ford attorney Debra Katz promptly shut down the inquiry.

“Let me put an end to this,” Katz said — pulling the microphone away from her client. “Her lawyers have paid for her polygraph.”

“As is routine,” Ford attorney Michael Bromwich added.
