Django Unchained Actress, Boyfriend Charged with Lewd Conduct
The LAPD will charge Django Unchained actress Danièle Watts and her boyfriend, chef Brian James Lucas, with lewd conduct for a headline-making incident that occurred in Studio City last month.
The LAPD said it had responded to a call about the pair engaged in a sex act in a car, and detained Watts for about fifteen minutes after she refused to give officers her ID.
But Watts alleged in a Facebook post that police had stopped them on the suspicion that they were a prostitute and john, leading to charges of racial profiling and civil rights violations — charges that were retracted when photos and videos surfaced seeming to confirm the LAPD’s story.
If convicted, Watts and Lucas face a maximum of six months in jail and $1000 fines.
