Don’t Panic: One of the Isolated DC Patients Probably Doesn’t Have Ebola

Earlier today, it was announced that two patients were admitted to two separate Washington, D.C. hospitals for showing ebola-like symptoms, and were immediately placed under isolation. Luckily, one of those patients doesn’t have ebola, meaning that DC residents can freak out 50% less now.

According to WUSA-9, the patient, who checked into the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Md., has tested positive for a different illness and does not have a confirmed diagnosis of ebola.

“We are working closely with the Montgomery County Health Department and State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) as well as the CDC to manage this case and to ensure we continue to be prepared to care for patients with Ebola symptoms,” the statement read, adding that they were keeping the patient under isolation just in case.

Do you feel better yet, America? No? Sigh, fine. We tried.
