Doonesbury’s Garry Trudeau: What Charlie Hebdo Did Is Close to Hate Speech
Garry Trudeau, the famous cartoonist behind Doonesbury, took some shots at Charlie Hebdo today, saying their work comes very close to “hate speech.”
Trudeau made the remarks at the George Polk Awards in Journalism ceremony, where he received a career award (making him the first-ever cartoonist to get that honor). This is what he said:
