Dutch Airlines Trolls Mexico World Cup Fans After Netherlands Victory (UPDATED)
For those of you following the World Cup (90 percent of the world, basically), you know that the Netherlands beat Mexico earlier today. And because soccer inspires such strong nationalism and over-the-top rivalries, here’s how one Dutch airline reacted on Twitter today.

(Yes, of course they ended up taking it down.)
Wow, that is some world-class trolling right there.
Also, maybe just a teensy bit of stereotyping? I mean, a sombrero. Really?
Update- 3:50 p.m.: A Mexican airline responded with a tweet of its own. It didn’t address the earlier tweet in question, but mainly just took the high road and kept things classy when they just as easily could have put up a stupid picture of a little Dutch boy or something.
Gracias por este gran campeonato, estamos orgullosos y los esperamos en casa #VivaMéxico pic.twitter.com/GCE5u5Cj6r
— Aeroméxico (@AeroMexico_com) June 29, 2014
That translates to “Thank you for this great Championship, proud and hope to see you at home #VivaMexico”
