Suspect Arrested For Erin Andrews Peephole Videos; TMZ Helped Lawyers
Michael David Barrett, 48, has been arrested for interstate stalking after he filmed eight videos of EPSN reporter Erin Andrews changing in two different hotel rooms and posted them on the internet, CNN reports.
Barrett allegedly filmed seven of the eight videos at a hotel room in Nashville, Tennessee, in September 2008. FBI agents said they found evidence that a peephole to the door of Andrews’ hotel room had been altered.
The FBI learned that Barrett checked into the same hotel at that time and asked for a room adjacent to Andrews using his home address to register for the room.
Barrett attempted to sell the videos to TMZ.com, which has made quite a business out of salacious videos. But the site didn’t purchase the videos, which were obviously the product of criminal activity, and instead gave information about Barrett to Andrews’ lawyers.
