ESPN Bans NY Post Over Shocking Lack of Erin Andrews Dignity
Being a Peeping Tom will get you in trouble. Publishing photo stills taken by a Peeping Tom will get you banned! So goes it for the New York Post whose employees were banned yesterday from appearing on ESPN shows after the paper published stills from the illegally filmed Erin Andrews naked video.
“While we understand the Post’s decision to cover this as a news story, their running photos obtained in such a fashion went well beyond the boundaries of common decency in the interest of sensationalism,” ESPN senior vice president of communications Chris LaPlaca said in a statement Wednesday night.
Absolutely. It’s utterly shocking that the New York Post, consistent purveyors of good taste, would stoop to such a level! However, wouldn’t having them on, just to yell at cable-style, actually have made for great ratings?
