First Four Episodes of Game of Thrones Season 5 Leak Online

While the fifth season of the popular fantasy drama HBO series Game of Thrones doesn’t debut until tonight at 9 p.m. ET, the first four episodes have apparently been leaked online to torrent sites.

According to The Verge, the series is the most popular illegally downloaded television series.

In a statement to Deadline, HBO confirmed that the leak came from early screeners: “Sadly, it seems the leaked four episodes of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones originated from within a group approved by HBO to receive them. We’re actively assessing how this breach occurred.”
