‘Fox News Mole’ Joe Muto Pleads To Two Misdemeanor Counts In Manhattan Court
Joe Muto, the former O’Reilly Factor producer who was let go after reporting from inside the organization for Gawker, entered a New York City courtroom on Thursday and pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges. Among the conditions of “Fox News Mole” Muto’s plea, if he is found to be in possession of any Fox News Channel property, he can be sent to prison for up to one year.
Muto was fired from Fox in April, 2012, after he began writing stories for Gawker about what daily life was like for Fox producers. Muto was reportedly paid $5,000 for his reports which included insider accounts like Fox host Sean Hannity referring to former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney as a “blue blood.”
