Fox News’ Pete Hegseth: Kim Jong Un ‘Probably Doesn’t Love’ to ‘Murder His People All Day Long’
According to a South Korean think tank, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered the executions of hundreds of people since coming to power in 2011. Roughly 140 of those were senior military and government officers. The North Korean leader, per South Korean intelligence, even ordered the killing of his own half-brother.
But if it’s any consolation, one Fox News host believes — rather than doing all that murder plotting — Kim Jong Un would much rather have just been watching basketball.
Wednesday on Fox & Friends, weekend host Pete Hegseth stopped by to discuss North Korea — amid chatter that the June 12 summit in Singapore between Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump is very much on the rocks. Hegseth is of the opinion that Kim Jong Un doesn’t really enjoy the whole killing thing. Not when he could be watching hoops, anyway.
“I think there’s probably a point at which the guy who wants to meet with [former NBA player] Dennis Rodman, and loves NBA basketball, and loves western pop culture, probably doesn’t love being the guy that has to murder his people all day long,” Hegseth said. “Probably wants some normalization. Let’s give it to him if we can make the world safer.”
June 12, it should be noted, falls between Games 5 and 6 of the NBA Finals. Could all this talk about the summit being scuttled really be about Kim Jong Un trying to keep his Finals watching plans in tact?
