GOP Rep: Republicans Able to Slam Obama on ISIS No Matter What He Does

The politics of President Obama‘s speech tonight are up in the air, but yesterday Republican Congressman Jack Kingston admitted that the GOP is able to have it both ways however things turn out with ISIS. Kingston, who believes Congress should vote on giving Obama the authorization to take action against ISIS, made these comments in a New York Times article yesterday.

Kingston acknowledged the realities election-year politics plays in how both sides are reacting to ISIS . And there are many, with Democrats left and… well, left vocalizing their concerns about how cautious Obama has been in combating the threat of ISIS.

And, of course, there are strong anti-war Democrats taking a very different position. So how this plays politically for them is up in the air, so to speak. But as for Republicans, Kingston said they’re perfectly fine with what’s going on now:

“Republicans don’t want to change anything. We like the path we’re on now. We can denounce it if it goes bad, and praise it if it goes well and ask what took him so long.”
