‘He Is Playing With These People’: WSJ Editor Explains How Trump Is Basically Lady Gaga

imageedit_288_4118673164Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published a piece by Daniel Henninger that made a simple and straightforward assertion: Donald Trump is basically Lady Gaga. Okay, the assertion isn’t that simple; it’s actually pretty outrageous. That’s why two WSJ anchors appeared on Fox News to follow up on the article today.

Henninger and the WSJ‘s William McGurn chatted about Trump’s penchant for bypassing the media and crafting his own narrative. Henninger joked that the realization that Gaga does the same thing came to him “late one night while [he] was listening to all [his] Lady Gaga CDs.”

He got serious, then, saying that when Trump tweet something outlandish that send reporters running around “like terriers,” he shows that he’s a performance artist, in a way.

No word yet on what Gaga thinks of the comparison, but given what we know about her feelings for Trump, we can make some assumptions.
