Here’s Rupert Murdoch Flying His Personal Drone
News Corp. Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch, whose media empire has a recent and sordid history of privacy violations, now has his own drone.
Murdoch tweeted a photo of himself and friend “Paul” flying the remote-controlled mini aircraft on Monday during a technology event hosted by the Wall Street Journal in Laguna Beach, Calif. Murdoch’s corporation owns the Journal.
“Trying out my new drone with Paul,” read the tweet.
The Sydney Morning Herald identified the drone as a “quadcopter.”
Commercial drones have fallen under scrutiny for their potential to be used as a spy tool.
Murdoch is also a fan of Google Glass, another new piece of technology that some fear will erode personal privacy.
