‘I Was a Do*che in 2016’: Johnny Manziel Tweets About Being ‘#lostinthesauce’

Screen-Shot-2017-01-19-at-3.20.15-PM-2-e1484857364386-650x468It was a tumultuous year for Heisman Trophy winning quarterback turned NFL castoff Johnny Manziel. The former Texas A&M star was released by the Cleveland Browns on March 11, and has not been picked up by anyone else in the league since. And in July, he got into an alteration at a wedding in Hawaii in which he reportedly punched a man in the face.

But a series of Tweets on Thursday suggests that Manziel believes he knows why 2016 was so chaotic for him, and that he’s prepared to do something about it.

Manziel’s issues with alcohol have been well documented over the years. And on Thursday, he acknowledged that in 2016, he was “#lostinthesauce.”

Earlier this week, Manziel told TMZ that he was doing well — staying sober and working out. He told TMZ that he was “dead serious” about making an NFL comeback.
