‘I’m Back’: Steve Scalise Returns to the Capitol for the First Time Since Shooting

Rep. Steve Scalise’s office has confirmed that the House Majority Whip and Louisiana lawmaker has finally returned to Congress after his extensive recuperation.

For approximately four months, Scalise has been recovering from the wounds he sustained after he and his colleagues on the GOP Congressional Baseball team were attacked by a shooter. Scalise’s office sent out an email blast to announce “he’s back,” and the congressman affirmed as much when he posted this photo on Twitter.

Scalise is expected to deliver a speech on the House floor shortly.

Earlier today, CBS previewed an interview with Scalise where he described his ongoing recovery for 60 Minutes. It is possible Scalise will talk about his ordeal some more when he appears before the House.
