In First Post-Candidacy Interview, Jeb Says He Made Mistakes But Has ‘No Regrets’

 

In hist first post-candidacy interview, Jeb Bush praised Ted Cruz‘s decision to tap Carly Fiorina as a running mate, reiterated his skepticism of Donald Trump, and asserted that, though he made mistakes, he has no regrets about his failed campaign.

Speaking to CNN’s Jamie Gangel in an interview, portions of which were aired Thursday, Bush affirmed that Trump’s “unpredictable” approach and mercurial views on foreign policy were a sharp contrast to the constancy that the world had come to expect from American leadership. “I don’t think he’s a serious person,” Bush said. All the same, he said say that he would not support Hillary Clinton in the event that Trump became the party’s nominee.

Reflecting on the campaign, Bush admitted that he had “certainly” made mistakes, but that he had no regrets. “This was my chance,” he said, “and I ran into a storm.”
