ISIS Posts Image of Alleged Bomb Used to Down Russian Airliner

CUHVx4sXIAEQ93YA magazine published by the terrorist organization ISIS released an image of what they claim is the bomb that brought down a Russian aircraft over Egypt last month.

“The divided Crusaders of the East and West thought themselves safe in their jets as they cowardly bombarded the Muslims of the Caliphate,” Dabiq magazine said. “And so revenge was exacted upon those who felt safe in the cockpits.”

The pictured bomb is extremely simple, comprised only of a soda can and two simple metal components. ISIS claims to have smuggled the bomb on board by exploiting a security flaw in Egypt’s Sharm al-Sheikh airport.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack the day after the plane went down, while Russian and Western intelligence agencies urged caution about jumping to conclusions. It wasn’t until yesterday that the Russian government announced that all indications pointed towards a terrorist attack.
