Jackass Star Arrested After Filming Himself Climb Crane to Protest SeaWorld

Jackass veteran Steve-O was arrested on Sunday after climbing a 100-foot-tall crane in Hollywood to protest SeaWorld.

The one-man event occurred on Sunset Boulevard late Sunday afternoon. Equipped with a small inflatable Shamu, on which he’d written “SeaWorld Sucks,” and a camera, Steve-O attracted the attention of dozens of police and emergency personnel. Why? Because he wanted to protest SeaWorld’s alleged atrocities as detailed in the 2013 documentary Blackfish.

The famous stuntman posted a hint of things to come on his Instagram page Saturday night. Without giving too much away at the time, Steve-O wrote, “We’re gonna do a big dangerous stunt tomorrow in Los Angeles that will probably get me in a lot of trouble.”

The “big dangerous stunt” turned out to be his climb atop the crane, at which point he used a battery-powered air machine to inflate the rather small Orca.

If anything, all Steve-O’s stunt accomplished was the production of a short vertigo-inducting clip, which you can watch below — if you dare:
