Jake Tapper Appears to Take Shots at NBC For ‘Media Complicity’ in Harvey Weinstein Story

Stunning new details in the Harvey Weinstein story were reported Tuesday by The New Yorker — in a lengthy piece by NBC News investigative journalist Ronan Farrow. But one of the country’s most prominent news anchors has questions about why Farrow’s reporting was published by The New Yorker, and not aired on NBC.
CNN’s Jake Tapper posted this tweet on Tuesday morning, shortly after Farrow’s article was published online:
Speaking of media complicity ask yourself why NBC reporter @RonanFarrow wrote this for The New Yorker.

The Lead host has been all over the Weinstein story since it broke in The New York Times last Thursday, and a significant angle of his coverage has focused on media complicity. Last week, Tapper had former Times editor Sharon Waxman on his show. Waxman claims the paper essentially killed a damning story on Weinstein back in 2004.
Tapper’s Twitter feed, since the lurid revelations became public, has included many prominent Hollywood personalities blasting Weinstein.
