James Corden Awkwardly Jokes About Harvey Weinstein at Gala to Mixed Reaction

Late night hosts cracked a few jokes about Harvey Weinstein this past week, but James Corden‘s jokes about the scandal during the amfAR Gala Friday night did not go over incredibly well.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Chris Gardner posted video from the event of Corden (above), in which the Late Late Show host says, “It’s a beautiful night here in LA. It’s so beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage.”

Upon hearing the mixed reaction and some groans in the room, Corden said, “If you don’t like that joke, you should probably leave now.”

He proceeded to joke about how “weird” it is to see Weinstein “in hot water,” adding, “Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath, it’s weird watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water.”

The clip of Corden has gotten backlash online as well, particularly from Rose McGowan:
