They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, though in the case of this photo of James O’Keefe and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, most of those words might not be particularly flattering.
The Project Veritas chief was at the Trump International Hotel in Washington today for an event held by the group United for Purpose. Ginni Thomas, a tea party activist and political consultant, was one of the presenters for today’s festivities, and she bestowed O’Keefe with an award for “going above and beyond in defense of liberty.”
Photos from the event made their way onto Twitter, and there were some people who wondered what exactly O’Keefe did that made him special enough to get an award. Plenty of these reactors noted that Project Veritas is still coming off last month’s major embarrassment when one of their operatives was caught feeding disinformation to Washington Post as part of a failed attempt to undermine the newspaper’s credibility.

What looked to all decent people like an unforgivable disgrace actually increased O’Keefe’s standing in the conservative movement. https://t.co/WELOMz8QMt

This is like one of those background scenes you see in The Man in the High Castle where you recognize the people, but tell yourself, "Oh, that would never happen in reality." https://t.co/ztNZKauzRT

Sometimes I swear this entire year as been some liberal’s parody of how they think some on the right would act. https://t.co/j1s0NhM2Th
