Jet Blue Flight Attendant Steven Slater Breaks Silence, Telling Fans ‘I Need To Go Take A Bath’

Last night Steven Slater — you know, the flight attendant who yelled at a passenger, grabbed a couple of beers and left the plane via emergency chute — was released from jail. The Associated Press has already called him “something of a cult hero,” and indeed he did appear on the cover of three New York tabloids. So its not surprising that his release from jail was greeted with a relative swarm of news hounds looking for comment.

When asked by a WABC reporter what he should tell fans of his right now, Slater entered his car, smiled, and said “I need to go take a bath.” Brilliant! Classic Slater.

So in the age of cashing in on sudden celebrity, what is next for Slater? Maybe a reality show, docu-soap on A&E called “Escape Chute”? Or perhaps a run for office challenging his incumbent congressional House representative Anthony Weiner? Or a three-picture deal with option to direct at MGM? Most likely all three.

Steven Slater – he’ll tell us what to do!
