Jet Blue Officially Fires Steven Slater

Sad Labor Day news. Steven Slater, emergency exit-sliding, beer can-grabbing, expletive-shouting, hero to workers (and non-workers!) across the country, has been officially fired from his job as a Jet Blue flight attendant. From the Daily News:

The airline Saturday canned the flight attendant who slid into folk-hero status last month when he jumped down a plane’s emergency chute with beers in hand after telling off passengers at Kennedy Airport.

Spokeswoman Jenny Dervin said yesterday that Slater, 38, of Queens, is no longer employed by the airline. She said the airline won’t release further details.

And just like that the summer of crazy officially comes to and end. The only question that remains now is: has Dancing With the Stars filled out its roster yet?
