Joan Rivers Reportedly Stops Breathing, Rushed to Hospital
TMZ is reporting that 81-year-old comedian Joan Rivers has been hospitalized after she stopped breathing during a surgery on her vocal cords this morning.
Rivers was allegedly rushed to Mt. Sinai in New York, and according to a 911 call, was suffering from either “cardiac or respiratory arrest.”
We’ll have more as this develops.
UPDATE (11:53 AM EST): The NYPD says that Rivers is in “critical” condition.
UPDATE (1:22 PM EST): E! Online reports that Rivers is now in stable condition, and that she was undergoing a minor endoscopic procedure (and was sedated while she had a scope in her throat) when she stopped breathing.
