John Kasich: My Opponents Are Like Satan, I Am ‘The Prince of Light and Hope’

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich had some high praise for Republican presidential candidate John Kasich Tuesday, saying on The Hugh Hewitt Show that he considered himself the “Prince of Light and Hope.”

“I have the experience and I’ve had success and I’ve been a reformer all of my life,” Kasich told host Hugh Hewitt when asked why he should win New Hampshire.

“And I have a message, you know– look, we have a lot of candidates who are like the Prince of Darkness,” Kasich said. “I consider myself the Prince of Light and Hope.”

For non-Christians and Kathleen Parker, the Prince of Darkness is another name for Satan. The Prince of Light and Hope is not a biblical phrase, although it definitely has some parallels to some of names for Jesus (Prince of Peace, Light of the World, etc.). The Prince of Light is a common title for the Archangel Michael, however.
