John Kerry Trolls Trump With Plug for His New Book: ‘I Recorded the Audio Version, Not Omarosa’
On Thursday night, President Donald Trump rounded off his day kvetching about former Secretary of State John Kerry‘s “illegal meetings with the very hostile Iranian Regime.”
“John Kerry had illegal meetings with the very hostile Iranian Regime, which can only serve to undercut our great work to the detriment of the American people,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “He told them to wait out the Trump Administration! Was he registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act? BAD!”
Kerry did not let Trump’s rant slide.
Instead, in response, Kerry told Trump that if he wanted to learn something about the nuclear agreement, he should buy his book.
“If you want to learn something about the nuclear agreement that made the world safer, buy my new book, Every Day Is Extra,” he wrote.
On the day former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort agreed to cooperate with the special counsel, Kerry also got in a Manafort-Mueller jab.
“Mr. President, you should be more worried about Paul Manafort meeting with Robert Mueller than me meeting with Iran’s FM,” Kerry wrote. “But if you want to learn something about the nuclear agreement that made the world safer, buy my new book, Every Day Is Extra.”
He then added this P.S:
Trump is not the only one blasting Kerry for engaging in talks with Iranian officials after he met with Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, which he admitted doing “three or four times” after leaving office.
On Friday, one day after Trump’s tweet, current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo slammed Kerry, saying his predecessor’s actions were “actively undermining” the Trump administration’s foreign policy work.
