Katie Couric is Coming Back to Today But it’s Not Exactly What You Think
Great news for fans of Katie Couric: She’s coming back! For a little while, that is. According to a report from The Los Angeles Times, for one week in January of 2017, the former anchor of the show will do a one week stint alongside her former co-anchor Matt Lauer while Savannah Guthrie is on maternity leave.
Couric anchored the program from 1991 to 2006, before leaving for CBS’s Evening News, becoming the first solo female anchor of an evening newscast. Currently, she’s the global anchor for Yahoo News. While she’s made appearances on the show since her departure, this will be her first time co-hosting since she left.
