Katie Porter Faces New Grilling After Viral Meltdowns: ‘Do You Think You Have a Temper?’
Former Congresswoman and current candidate for governor Katie Porter (D-CA) faced new questions about her recent viral meltdown and a leaked outburst as she spoke at a college forum.
After a September interview went viral earlier this month, Porter faced criticism over a leaked clip in which she berated a staffer for appearing in her live shot.
During an appearance at a speaking engagement organized by the UC Student and Policy Center, Porter took responsibility and when asked about her temper, told the crowd she’s only “human”:
KATIE PORTER (D-CA) I think it’s no secret that I could have handled that interview better, and I think part of my job is to be honest with voters about that, I know that.

MODERATOR: Do you think you have a temper?
KATIE PORTER (D-CA) I think everybody has a temper. I mean, I’m human and I’m not running as anything other than a human being.
I think I have a duty to, and I want people to know that I understand what I did was not good.
I’m gonna not mince words about it, but I also want people understand that I am in this fight because I am not going to back down or give one inch when people are hurting Californians.
