Kellyanne Conway Wonders Why Meryl Streep Didn’t Advocate For the Chicago Torture Victim Instead

Within hours of Meryl Streep concluding her blistering anti-Trump speech at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, the address was well on its way to going viral, with the acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award having been viewed millions of times already. Streep’s commentary — in which she harangued the President-elect for his well-documented alleged mocking of a reporter’s disability — even elicited a response from Trump himself on his favorite platform Twitter.

But when senior aide Kellyanne Conway was questioned about it on Fox & Friends Monday morning, the former campaign manager turned the tables on Streep; Conway wondered aloud why there was no outrage at the horrible news out of Chicago last week when a young man was tortured on Facebook Live by four black assailants.

“My initial reaction is I’m glad Meryl Streep has such a passion for the disabled,” said Conway Monday morning. “because I didn’t hear her weigh in and I didn’t hear her use her platform Ainsley to give a shoutout,” to the young boy in Chicago.

Conway continued, “So, I’d like to hear from her today.” Conway, the first woman in history to successful lead a presidential campaign, noted that Trump has repeatedly “debunked” the claims that he publicly mocked the disability of Serge Kovaleski of The New York Times. While Conway spoke, Fox & Friends showed images of Streep with Hillary Clinton.
