All the Muppets are together again (again), but today during TCA 15 to promote their new ABC mockumentary series, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy dropped some pretty big news.
That’s right, the world’s most famous interspecies couple is splitting up.
Miss Piggy posted this statement on her Facebook page this afternoon:
After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, Kermit the Frog and moi have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship. We will continue to work together on television (“The Muppets”/Tuesdays 8pm this fall on ABC) and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter… unless we get the right offer. Thank you for your understanding.
Now, lest you think this is their way of having some timely fun after the announcement this week of a Hollywood divorce, in the world of their new ABC show, they’ve already split up while they’re working on the new hit ABC show Up Late with Miss Piggy.
In fact, a preview of the show establishes Kermit as in a relationship with another pig, while Miss Piggy is seen making out with Topher Grace.
