Listen to Willow Smith’s Uplifting Post-Election Song, ‘November 9th’
After last week’s election, lots of people are celebrating but others are disappointed, and some are even fearful. Over the weekend, Willow Smith released a breathy ballad called “November 9th.” She posted the song to her SoundCloud, writing, “I wrote this song on the day of the election. Peace and revelations to all!”
The song begins, “Baby girl I know you’re tired, don’t let the world put out your fire / Take my hand and you will see, sadness and anger aren’t everything.”
The rest of the song continues similarly, telling those who are sad and fearful to keep going. It’s slow and it’s haunting, but ultimately the message is positive and uplifting.
