Man Driving DeLorean Ticketed for Speeding After Hitting 88mph

A British man was fined for speeding after driving over 88 miles per hour in a DeLorean, reports The Guardian.

55-year-old Nigel Mills was clocked going 89 miles per hour, only a tad faster than the required speed to time travel in the classic Back to the Future trilogy. The time machine in those films was of course also a DeLorean.

“I wasn’t trying to time travel,” Mills insisted. “It was at 11 AM on Sunday and the road was completely clear.” Apparently, where he was going, he did need roads.

In the end, Mills lucked out. When he appeared in court to answer for his crime, the officers who pulled him over failed to show up and he got off completely.
