More Leaked Messages Show Breitbart Staffers Revolting Against Management

breitbart_logoA second round of leaked messages obtained by IJ Review show Breitbart reporters and staffers in open revolt against the site’s treatment of reporter Michelle Fields after her accusation of assault against Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

After Fields tweeted an image of her bruised arm, Breitbart reporter (and former Mediaite writerFrances Martel reacted negatively after editor-at-large Joel Pollak told reporters on Slack that they were not allowed to retweet it. “Damn sad. Just sad all around guys,” she wrote. “I get why we shouldn’t engage the Trump folks but supporting our sister-in-arms seems a no-brainer.”

“YES,” reporter Jordan Schachtel enthusiastically agreed.

“We should stand with our reporter,” Breitbart Texas Managing Director Brandon Darby wrote. “WTF?”

He continued: “Inexcusable. Stand with our reporters– non-negotiable. She didn’t deserve this, and she damn sure didn’t deserve to be smeared.”

In a more amusing example, contributor Lee Stranahan jokes about openly defying the tight restrictions on what they were allowed to tweet. “Can we tweet a photo of Trump dressed as Hitler with a #WAR hashtag?” he asked.

“No,” Pollak responds simply.

“Oops!” Stranahan replies immediately.
