MSNBC’s Touré Pans This Is 40, Director Judd Apatow Fires Back
After panning the new comedic film This Is 40 on Twitter, MSNBC host Touré got more pushback than he expected, with the film’s director/producer Judd Apatow hitting back immediately.
The MSNBC host posted a two-sentence review to Twitter after seeing the comedy somewhat considered to be a “sequel” to 2007’s box office hit Knocked Up:
Apatow didn’t take too kindly to the panning, responding with a topical blow to Touré:
The incident to which Apatow was referring: Earlier in the afternoon, the progressive MSNBC co-host of The Cycle proclaimed that he refuses to “lie” to his children about the myth of Santa Claus’ existence.
After retweeting Apatow’s initial brushback, Touré then tried to explain himself as simply disappointed in the normally-fantastic director:
Apatow wasn’t having any of it. He said the MSNBC just doesn’t get it:
And then the famed director re-tweeted his love of some of his own followers’ responses, including one that poked fun at the MSNBC’s host’s single name:
Lesson learned? Don’t talk poorly about Apatow’s films on Twitter. He will find you!
